celebrating 130 years!

come and celebrate 130 years with us!

1892 - 2022

Picture
During the month of June we’re celebrating 130 years of the Lee Public Library!

We’ll enjoy both adult and children’s activities, a big bake and book sale, story walk fun, a live owl presentation, photo displays, author presentations, the Historical Society open house, open mic time and much more…

The first public library in Lee opened in October of 1892 on the 2nd floor of the town hall building and remained there until the weight of the books became too much for the building to support. In 1959, Lee voters decided to restore the Center School and make it the town's new library. In 1962, the old school was placed on wheels and moved in 3 hours to its present location at 9 Mast Rd.
