​Friday February 6, 6:30pm – 8:30pm – Oyster River Community Read (ORCR) Kick-Off Event… Open Mic Night at the Freedom Café in Durham: Come along to sing a song, read a poem or play a tune, or just come and listen! Oyster River Community Read programs are free and open to all. Selected books are available to borrow at each participating library. If reading isn’t your thing, come and enjoy the conversations anyway. All are welcome! The chosen title for 2026 is ‘The Book of Joy’ By the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

​Thursday February 12, 2:00pm – 2:30pm – Quick Crafts with Hayley, Valentine’s Topiaries: Join us for this fun and simple heart-filled activity.

​Friday February 13, 5:00pm – 7:00pm – Middlers Unite: Join us in the old town hall to eat snacks, do crafts, play games, hang out and have some fun.  Call the library at 603-659-2626 to register, program capped at 20.

Friday February 20, 4:30 – 7:00 – Middle/High School Book Group: Read ‘The Princess Bride’ by William Goldman. We’ll discuss the book, watch the movie to make comparisons, and enjoy some pizza, and drinks! Books are available at the library. Call 659-2626 if you are in grades 7-12 and would like to join.

​Saturday February 21, 10:00am - 11:00am – Ukulele Workshop: S.N.H.U.G will bring a library of 40 ukuleles, and in just an hour, you’ll be playing along! All ages welcome, no sign-up necessary.

​Tuesday February 24, 6:00pm– 7:00pm – Chainsaws, Cheeseburgers, and Rock N' Roll with Dr. “The Machine” Jesse Green - Held at the Durham Public Library: Join us as we partner with Durham and Madbury Libraries for a fun-filled, fast-paced, SEL motivational slide show like nothing you've ever seen! For ages 8 and up. Come along to the Durham Public Library to experience visualization, goal-setting, positive attitude, perseverance, courage, kindness, eliminating the fear of failure, and soooOOO much more!
