Saturday April 15, 10:00am – 11: 00am – Fish Printing with UNH Extension: Gyotaku (Japanese 魚拓, from gyo "fish" + taku "rubbing") is a traditional form of Japanese fish printing or rubbing, dating from the mid-19th century, a form of nature printing used by fishermen to record their catches. To make a gyotaku print, one places the subject (e.g. fish, crab) on a wooden bench and paints one side with sumi ink. Next a piece of paper or other material is laid over the ink-covered fish. Finally, one rubs the material until there is the image of the fish on it! So much fun, come and join us!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
This library program encourages Lee families to read 1000 books with their young children before they enter kindergarten. It’s easy... just1000booksbeforekindergarten.org/ register and keep track of how many books you’ve read on a reading log. We’ll help you celebrate the first 100 books milestone with the gift of a canvas book bag. And at each 100 books mark, you’ll get a 100 books sticker. Reach 1000 and you’ll receive a copy of Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten! Registration and participation is ongoing. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Lee Public Library.
